Down below the deck of The Enchantress' Revenge, the crew's treasures, bounty and weapons are stored, along with multiple barrels of alcohol. It's dimly lit by candles and sun or moonlight, and is strangely comfortable.
She nods. "Nor did I... Nor did Adam." She confirmed with a nod. "It was all just luck..."

He laughed, and laid back on the create, looking up at the lantern, which hung from the ceiling of the hull, watching it sway with the motion of the boat. "I know metaphorically, boats are like moving or impertinence or something, because they're always in a different place, and they could easily sink, but even though you can feel the deck moving under you, it's really sturdy, in a way land isn't. I don't know. I guess the boat caught all of us." He wanted to ask how Clarice got here, but he wasn't sure if he should. "What about you?" he asked vaguely.
She huffed a little. "Okay." She said. "Well. I lived in a little town. I had one best friend- Diane." She said. "Uh.. Diane was jealous of me, I suppose. I... played violin better than her." She said. "And - oh - my parents abused that to the point of depression. To get money. Fame. Glory... Whatever." She said, clearing her throat. "One day I snapped... Diana saw. And I ran." She said, wiping her face. "And half a year later I came across this ship. There was this guy who knew me from childhood. My next door neighbor. My only friend on that boat. And I would have died if it were not for him asking to give me a chance." She finished, sighing. "Been here since."

He didn't understand any of that, but it boiled down to the same thing: Something unpleasant at home. "Adam?"
